Explore Jamestown, Kentucky

Jamestown, Kentucky was originally known as Jacksonville (named after President Andrew Jackson). The name was later changed to honor James Woodridge, the man who donated the land on which the town was founded. Two recorded skirmishes of the Civil War took place here during the early 1860's.

Today, the town is home to many endearing businesses and restaurants and is also the location of a Fruit of the Loom factory. The Jamestown Lakefest Celebration and the Russell County Fair are just two of the many events enjoyed in Jamestown every year.
